2004年，原版Blackie於紐約Christie’s佳士得拍賣會以美金$959,500成交，由有著「Burst Brothers」之稱的David Belzer與Drew Berlin代表Guitar Center標下。隔年，這把傳奇原琴正式交由Fender Custom Shop進行全面研究與拆解分析，並在Eric Clapton本人批准下，由Todd Krause、Yuriy Shishkov與Mark Kendrick等Masterbuilt傳奇團隊主導，於2006年推出Blackie Tribute Replica。當年全美僅分配185支，並於2006年11月24日在美國Guitar Center獨家販售，開賣後短短7小時內全數售罄，部分收益更捐贈給Eric Clapton創立的Crossroads慈善機構。
由Mark Kendrick打造，整支琴從漆面磨耗、傷痕位置、老化細節，到所有規格與手感皆以原琴完整重現，甚至連拾音器都是依照原琴精密測量後重新手工纏繞製作。這不只是單純的Relic，更是Fender對這把歷史級Stratocaster最極致的一次致敬。

Regarded by countless Eric Clapton fans as the true holy grail, this Blackie Tribute Replica is from the highest tier of the Fender Custom Shop, the Masterbuilt department, and was handcrafted by legendary master builder Yuriy Shishkov. It is a complete, faithful replica of Clapton's most iconic black Stratocaster, "Blackie."
In 2004, the original Blackie was sold at Christie's auction house in New York for $959,500 USD, won by David Belzer and Drew Berlin, known as the "Burst Brothers," on behalf of Guitar Center. The following year, this legendary original guitar was officially handed over to the Fender Custom Shop for comprehensive study and teardown analysis. Approved by Eric Clapton himself, the project was led by the legendary Masterbuilt team including Todd Krause, Yuriy Shishkov, and Mark Kendrick. The Blackie Tribute Replica was subsequently released in 2006. At the time, only 185 pieces were allocated to the United States and were sold exclusively through Guitar Center on November 24, 2006. The entire run sold out within a mere seven hours of opening, and a portion of the proceeds was donated to the Crossroads Centre charity founded by Eric Clapton.
Every aspect of the guitar, from the finish wear, the exact placement of blemishes, and aging details, to all the specifications and playing feel, has been completely reproduced based on the original instrument. Even the pickups were hand-wound from scratch after precise measurements of the original guitar. This is not just a standard Relic; it is Fender's ultimate tribute to this historically significant Stratocaster.
The original accessories are equally extravagant, featuring an Anvil flight case that completely replicates the original Blackie case, including the Duck Brothers stencil, London telephone number, BK hang tag, and even faithfully restored damage and signs of wear. Additionally, it includes certificates signed by both Eric Clapton and the master builder, an original pictorial book, a DVD documenting the making of Blackie, a copy of the Christie's auction documents, a Crossroads CD box set, and letters from the Crossroads Centre. For true Clapton collectors, this is not just a guitar, but one of the most iconic Masterbuilt creations in Fender history.
