2004 Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt 50th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster by John Cruz-Sunburst
Stratocaster是有史以來最受歡迎的吉他之一，也是流行、搖滾音樂的縮影，更是Fender歷史的重要組成，Fender為慶祝1954 Stratocaster發行五十年，2004年Fender與Masterbuilt頂級部門的多位製琴師共同合作，推出精確復刻的五十週年紀念琴，復刻Fender傳奇又經典的1954年Stratocaster，並將復刻提升到了新層次，而其中由John Cruz與John English兩位傳奇製琴師製作的最為稀有，也是市場上漲幅最高的。
琴身採用了Custom Closet Classic的Nitrocellulose Lacque漆面處理，使琴身上有著些許的自然裂紋痕跡與小敲痕，就像是保存完好的1954年元琴一樣，而所有的塑料配件，旋鈕、拾音器蓋、護板材料、Switch Tip等都與過去1954量產復刻款完全不同，這款五十週年紀念版為了搭配真正老式的復刻配件，設計師們達到了對細節的關注，將1954 Stratocaster原琴的塑料與金屬零件送至南加州實驗室進行檢驗，並使用與當年幾乎相同的材質配方與規格進行復刻，連旋鈕上的字體都是與1954當年相同的，甚至請來當年原廠的師傅親自製作了琴身背蓋。
琴身為Ash，原廠採用了1954"U"型7.25” Radius的楓木琴頸、Vintage Frets，搭配一組1954 Single-Coil Strat Pickups拾音器，供了更接近1954 Stratocaster經典復古的音色。
整體九成新，Fret約八成新，證書配件齊全。由John Cruz打造吉他的一直以來都是保值的象徵，自從他於2020年離開Fender後，以前由他所打造的吉他在市場上持續上漲，而由John Cruz製作的50th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster目前在日本市場上價格更是高達台幣五十幾萬，John Cruz在未來幾乎不可能回歸Fender，他製作的這些吉他只會越來越稀有，而五十週年紀念版更賦有收藏價值。

The Stratocaster is one of the most iconic guitars of all time, a symbol of pop and rock music, and an essential part of Fender’s history. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1954 Stratocaster, Fender collaborated with several master builders from the Custom Shop in 2004 to create an exceptionally accurate reissue. This commemorative model is a faithful reproduction of the legendary 1954 Stratocaster, elevating the concept of a reissue to a whole new level. Among these guitars, the ones built by legendary luthiers John Cruz and John English are the rarest and have seen the highest increase in value on the market.
The body features a Custom Closet Classic nitrocellulose lacquer finish, giving it subtle natural checking and minor dings, just like a perfectly preserved original from 1954. Unlike previous 1954 reissues, every plastic component on this 50th Anniversary model, knobs, pickup covers, pickguard material, switch tip, was redesigned to be truly vintage correct. To achieve this level of authenticity, designers sent original 1954 Stratocaster plastic and metal parts to a lab in Southern California for analysis, then reproduced them using nearly identical formulas and specifications. Even the font on the knobs matches that of the originals. Fender even brought in former factory craftsmen to recreate the backplate using traditional methods.
The guitar features an ash body, a 1954 "U" shape maple neck with a 7.25" radius, vintage frets, and a set of 1954 style single-coil Strat pickups, delivering a tone that closely resembles the vintage sound of the original 1954 Stratocaster.
The guitar is in very good condition, with approximately 80% fret life remaining. It comes complete with certificate and original accessories. Guitars built by John Cruz have always held their value well, and since his departure from Fender in 2020, instruments crafted by him have only continued to appreciate. With John Cruz unlikely to ever return to Fender, the guitars he built are becoming increasingly rare, and this 50th Anniversary model carries significant collectible value.
