琴身採用了Custom Closet Classic的Nitrocellulose Lacque漆面處理，使琴身上有著些許的自然裂紋痕跡與小敲痕，就像是保存完好的1954年元琴一樣，而所有的塑料配件，旋鈕、拾音器蓋、護板材料、Switch Tip等都與過去1954量產復刻款完全不同，這款五十週年紀念版為了搭配真正老式的復刻配件，設計師們達到了對細節的關注，將1954 Stratocaster原琴的塑料與金屬零件送至南加州實驗室進行檢驗，並使用與當年幾乎相同的材質配方與規格進行復刻，連旋鈕上的字體都是與1954當年相同的，甚至請來當年原廠的師傅親自製作了琴身背蓋。
琴身為Ash，原廠採用了1954"U"型7.25” Radius的楓木琴頸、Vintage Frets，搭配一組1954 Single-Coil Strat Pickups拾音器，供了更接近1954 Stratocaster經典復古的音色。John English於2007年過世，而他的作品隨著時間的推移，價值不斷增長，而五十週年紀念版更賦有收藏價值。近全新品收藏品，把握收藏機會。

2004 Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt by John English 50th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster-Sunburst. The guitar is in excellent condition.
This is an exact replica of a 1954 Stratocaster by John English. It is one of a limited release available only from January 1 through December 31, 2004. Every aspect of the original has been duplicated including the knobs, switch tip, pickup covers, and pickups. It even has the serial number, stamped on the back tremolo cover plate, the U-neck shape of the original, and the 2-piece ash body with offset glue seam. Aged nickel hardware and a Custom Closet Classic finish make it look so authentic. The guitar includes two cases, a brown 50th anniversary poodle case and the regular hard shell molded one so that affects the shipping price to double.

Fender’s latest ode to its own, the Custom Shop 50th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster, made its debut at the January ’04 NAMM show, just four months after the idea was pitched by Mike Tonn, Marketing Manager for Electric Guitars and Basses at the company’s Arizona headquarters.
“People have asked us over the years to make a ’54 Strat,” said Tonn. “Although we have made ‘versions‘ of the ’54 in the past, they were never vintage-correct due to the fact that the knobs, pickup covers, pickguard material, and switch tip were very different back then, and tooling can be costly. Unless we were thinking of adding a ’54 Stratocaster to the American Vintage series, it just did not make sense. But, as we sat to discuss what we wanted to do to commemorate the 50th anniversary, we all knew it was time.”
