這是一把由 Gibson Custom Shop 於2003年與日本經銷商山野樂器共同推出的 Custom Order 日本特別訂製版，市場上極為罕見的 1968 Les Paul Custom with 3-Pickup。
本琴的復刻靈感來自 KISS 吉他手 Ace Frehley 最具代表性的 Les Paul Custom Cherry Sunburst，擁有相同的型號、配色以及三拾音器配置，因此在外觀與規格上，都與 Ace Frehley 的經典愛琴有著極高的相似度。
琴體採用楓木琴面搭配桃花心木琴身，並使用一體式桃花心木琴頸，搭配黑檀木指板。全琴搭載更具有質感的金色硬體。琴頸採用 '68 Medium C-Shape 規格，手感厚實飽滿，同時具備非常良好的琴頸共鳴。
拾音器則是這把琴最具特色的配置之一，為當年特別訂製的 三顆雙奶油色 DiMarzio Super Distortion。三顆 Super Distortion 的配置相當罕見，也讓這把琴擁有非常扎實、強烈且飽滿的中頻表現。
整體保存狀況極佳，已接近收藏品等級。琴身幾乎沒有明顯傷痕，並且完整保留當年的相關文件，包括日本山野樂器原廠保固書，對於一把至今已保存將近 24 年的吉他而言，如此的完整度相當難得。

This is an extremely rare 1968 Les Paul Custom with 3-Pickup, a special Japanese Custom Order commissioned by Gibson Custom Shop in 2003 in collaboration with its Japanese distributor, Yamano Music.
This guitar was inspired by the iconic Les Paul Custom Cherry Sunburst famously associated with KISS guitarist Ace Frehley. It features the same model, finish, and three-pickup configuration, making it remarkably similar to Ace Frehley’s legendary guitar in both appearance and specifications.
The guitar features a maple top over a mahogany body, paired with a one-piece mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard. The entire guitar is equipped with premium-looking gold hardware. The neck features the '68 Medium C-Shape profile, offering a substantial, full feel along with excellent neck resonance.
The pickups are one of the most distinctive features of this guitar. It was specially ordered with three double-cream DiMarzio Super Distortion pickups. The three-Super-Distortion configuration is exceptionally rare and gives the guitar a powerful, solid tone with a strong and full midrange.
The overall condition is excellent and approaches collector-grade condition. The guitar has virtually no significant visible damage and retains its original documentation, including the original Yamano Music warranty from Japan. For a guitar that has been preserved for nearly 24 years, such completeness is exceptionally difficult to find.
It is also worth noting that, due to current artist-licensing policies, Gibson is no longer able to accept Custom Orders with specifications closely resembling an Ace Frehley Les Paul Custom. However, in 2003, this type of special order, drawing inspiration from a famous artist’s iconic guitar and closely recreating its specifications, was still permitted.
Therefore, this is not only an exceptionally rare Gibson Custom Shop 1968 Les Paul Custom 3-Pickup, but also a historically significant Japanese Custom Order with a very specific place in Gibson’s custom-order history and genuine collector appeal.
